Dan Guerrero is one of two criminal defense attorneys at the firm. He has been practicing in the area of criminal defense for 27 years in both state and federal courts throughout Minnesota. For years he has advocated persuasively for his clients’ cause and insists they be treated fairly. He is committed to uphold the high standards of Minnesota’s criminal defense bar. Throughout his career, Dan has been a respected, well-liked member of Minnesota’s criminal justice community, building and sustaining relationships with prosecutors, judges, probation officers and others necessary to achieve positive results for his clients.
Dan is skilled in all felony and misdemeanor offenses, including homicide, assault, drug and sex offenses, gun cases, theft and embezzlement, DUI and traffic violations, expungement and forfeiture law. He is an experienced trial lawyer, having tried over 75 cases to a jury. He also does appellate work, perfecting dozens of appeals. Most importantly, he cares deeply about his clients. His objective at the conclusion of each case is to know his client is in a better place, with a more positive outlook on life than when he or she first met him. That’s how one judges success in a criminal case.
Dan is a current member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and the Minnesota Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, where he served as President. He is also a member of the Minnesota Hispanic Bar Association. He is a partner at Meshbesher & Spence, where he has practiced law since graduating from the University of Minnesota Law School in 1989.
When not working, Dan likes to spend time with his large, extended family. He also enjoys gardening, photography and occasionally taking in the vast array of art at the Minneapolis Institute of Art and The Walker Art Center, and attending Plays at The Jungle Theater and other theaters around the Twin Cities. His friends go way back and he is often found enjoying their company in his West 7th neighborhood of St. Paul watching Twins, Vikings, Wild and Gopher games.
